Treetops is famous as the place where the then-Princess Elizabeth awoke one morning in 1952 to find her father had passed away and she had become queen. Nestled deep in the forests of Aberdares National Park, Treetops is placed in the path of the ancient elephant migratory route between the Aberdares Mountain Range and Mount Kenya National Park. Treetops is built to resemble a tree house, this lodge-on-stilts is built high amongst the trees strategically placed overlooking watering holes where guests can expect to see numerous Game such as Elephants, Buffalos and Rhino's.
Accommodation at Treetops:
There are 48 cosy rooms and two suites and for the die-hard animal lovers, you needn't worry about missed sightings as an optional buzzer in the rooms alerts the guests when a spectacle is unfolding at the waterhole. All of the rooms overlook the water hole and are small, cosy and neat ship-like cabins with shared bathroom facilities. Treetops have 2 suites that have private bathroom facilities.
Bars and Restaurants and Treetops:
The Malkia Bar at Treetops is located on the roof top platform and offer spectacular views of the waterholes and the stunning Aberdares Mountain Range. Travelled on the Thorn Tree Safari with a beach stay at the Voyager Beach Hotel. We have recently returned from our safari and just wanted to say a big big thank you for suggesting the Thorn Tree Safari and beach holiday. Being a little apprehensive about going on a safari, but it was something my husband and 10 year old son longingly wanted to do. I just wantd to say it was the best holiday we have been on. I could not fault anything and it was down to your personal knowledge that put us on to a wonderful journey, the best ever. Thank you once again.
