Kilindi Zanzibar opened in 2009 and in its first year of operation established a reputation as the top hideaway in Zanzibar. The resort, fringed by Casuarina trees and set on a magnificent beach extending 500 metres, offers luxurious accommodation in 15 arched pavilion-style villas with unique domed roofs, spread across 54 acres of lush tropical gardens.
Accommodation at Kilindi:
The 15 Pavilions are incredibly spacious and airy, and by keeping the décor simple, they optimize the natural light and breeze very effectively. The large domed roofs are part of the innovative water recycling system used throughout the hotel, water is collected and stored under each pavilion, helping to keep them cool, while also providing the water for the pools, showers and toilets.
Facilities at Kilindi:
Kilindi’s uShawari spa offers authentic pampering: skilled East African therapists use traditional techniques incorporating local herbs, oils and honey. Awarded the title Best for Beachside Beauty in BA’s High Life magazine in May 2009, a highlight is the opportunity to sip a post-treatment cocktail in a walled garden.
Breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean, traditional wooden dhows and Tumbatu Island can be seen across the sandy beach and from the T-shaped, 24 metre infinity swimming pool.
The main building is open at the front through archways to a terrace overlooking the beach. There is a spacious bar with a waterfall feature and an indoor/outdoor dining area. Dining options include romantic dinners on the beach and room service. The kitchen has an organic garden that provides ingredients for meals and an on-site smokery for local fish delicacies. Rainwater harvesting, solar energy, water treatment and recycling are further evidence of the hotel’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

7 Day Masai Safari Itinerary My wife and I travelled with your company for our honeymoon in June this year, and I wanted to thank-you for the fantastic holiday we had. I'm not even sure where to begin; our driver/guide was friendly, patient, polite and knowledgeable about the wildlife. He knew the animals habits and habitats; when to wait for them to return or to look for other fare. The lodges you took us to were brilliant, the views beautiful, the food delicious and service very helpful - much better than we had expected. We saw so many different animals, all the big five, and very close up on occasion, we have many great photographs to remember the holiday. We also went on the hot-air balloon across the Masi-mara, and although we didn't see as much as we'd hoped, to finish with the breakfast amongst the wildebeast and zebra was thoroughly enjoyable. The best thing was how relaxed we were, we had forgotten the day of the week half-way through. I don't think I have a bad thing to say about the whole trip. Although the safari is not cheap, I have to say it provides excellent value for money and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to celebrate a special occasion. Thank-you very very much.
